• DEFENSE. Mercury/Clark & Weinstock has been hired by Chromalloy Gas Turbines to lobby on “military aerospace issues,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Former Reps. Max Sandlin (D-Texas) and Vin Weber (R-Minn.) are lobbying for the company.

 • ENERGY. Covington & Burling has been hired BHP Billiton Marketing Asia to lobby on “mining interests in Gabon,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Alan Larson, a former senior State Department official, is lobbying for the company.

• ENVIRONMENT. Downey McGrath Group Inc. has been hired by the Antarctic and Southern Ocean Coalition to lobby on “marine reserves in Antarctica and Southern Oceans,” according to disclosure records. Former Reps. Thomas Downey (D-N.Y.) and Ray McGrath (R-N.Y.) are lobbying for the coalition.

• FINANCIAL SERVICES. Mehlman Vogel Castagnetti Inc. has been hired by Encore Capital Group to lobby on “financial services issues” and the “Telephone Consumer Protect Act [sic],” according to lobbying disclosure records. David Castagnetti, former chief of staff to Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), and Kelly Bingel, once chief of staff to ex-Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.), are lobbying for the company.

Fierce, Isakowitz & Blalock has been hired by Hartford Financial Services Group to lobby on “Insurance and financial services industry issues,” according to Senate records. Aleix Jarvis, former legislative director for Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), and Billy Piper, once a special assistant to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), are lobbying for the company.

•TAX. Cauthen Forbes & Williams has been hired by Oracle to lobby on “issues related to international tax and repatriation,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Jeff Forbes, once staff director for the Senate Finance Committee, and Libby Greer, former chief of staff to ex-Rep. Allen Boyd (D-Fla.), are lobbying for the company.

•TECHNOLOGY. Dutko Worldwide has been hired by Agilex Technologies Inc. to “market Agilex’s enterprise mobility service and solution offering to federal civilian agencies,” disclosure records show. Matthew Schrader, former staff assistant for ex-Rep. Tom Davis (R-Va.), and David Beightol, once a special assistant to President George H.W. Bush, are lobbying for the company.
