Van Ness Feldman has been hired by Wilmar Oleo North America, a biofuels marketer and distributor, to lobby on “eligibility of palm oil-based biofuels under the Renewable Fuels Standard program,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Ben McMakin, former legislative director for Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), is lobbying for the company.

HEALTHCARE. Hogan Lovells has been hired by the Residential Eating Disorder Coalition to lobby on “healthcare reform and eating disorder treatment,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Former Rep. John Porter (R-Ill.) is lobbying for the coalition.

Capitol Counsel has been hired by the Biotechnology Industry Organization to lobby on “Medicare Part B coverage and reimbursement issues,” according to lobbying disclosure records. John Raffaelli, former counsel for tax and international trade to the late Sen. Lloyd Bentsen (D-Texas), and Drew Goesl, former chief of staff to Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.), are lobbying for the trade group.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS. Iverson Government Relations has been hired by Time Warner Cable to “monitor legislation and hearings relevant to the cable television and high-speed broadband industries, including but not limited to merger review, intellectual property, spectrum policy, privacy and telecommunications [and c]ommunicate with Congress and the executive branch to discuss these issues when necessary,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Jonathan Schwantes, former general counsel for Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis.), is lobbying for the company.

The OB-C Group has been hired by Motorola Mobility Inc. to lobby on “All VID mandate; FM Chip mandate; Spectrum; patent reform,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Robert Marsh, former senior aide to President George W. Bush, and Patricia Nelson, a former aide on the House Ways and Means Committee, are lobbying for the company. 

TRANSPORTATION. Nelson, Mullins, Riley & Scarborough has been hired by the Institute of Makers of Explosives, which represents U.S. manufacturers of high explosives, to lobby on “surface transportation in reauthorization legislation,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Former Rep. Ron Klink (D-Pa.) and Mick Nardelli, a former special assistant to Klink, are lobbying for the group.
