• ENTERTAINMENT. The Podesta Group has been hired by Universal Music Group to lobby on “competition issues,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Paul Brathwaite, former executive director of the Congressional Black Caucus, is lobbying for the company. 

 • HEALTHCARE. Holland & Knight has been hired by the Tele-Acute and Critical Care Coalition to “secure demonstration program to evaluate the value of tele-acute and critical care services in improving patient outcomes and reducing costs,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Robert Bradner, once counsel to ex-Rep. John Porter (R-Ill.), and Katharine Leeson, former legislative assistant to ex-Rep. Marty Meehan (D-Mass.), are lobbying for the coalition. 

McDermott Will & Emery has been hired by Athenahealth to lobby on “health information technology and related issues, legislative and regulatory,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Edward Eynon, former deputy chief of staff to Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz.), and Margaret Binzer, once counsel to the Senate Budget Committee, are lobbying for the company. 

• TAX. Ogilvy Government Relations has been hired by Assurant Inc., an insurance company, to lobby on “tax reform issues,” according to lobbying disclosure records. John O’Neill, former policy director and counsel to ex-Senate Minority Whip Trent Lott (R-Miss.), and Mike Hogan, former deputy chief of staff for Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), are lobbying for the company. 

Cauthen Forbes & Williams has been hired by Verizon Corp. to lobby on “S. 971/HR 1860 [,] the Wireless Tax Fairness Act [,] and S. 543/HR 1002 [,] the Digital Goods and Services Act,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Jay Driscoll, former legislative assistant to Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), and Jeff Forbes, former chief of staff to Baucus, are lobbying for the company. 

• TELECOMMUNICATION. Hannegan Landau Advocacy has been hired by Comcast Corp. to lobby on “issues as they relate to the telecommunication industry,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Tim Hannegan, formerly of the Government Accountability Office, is lobbying for the company.
