• AGRICULTURE. VH Strategies has been hired by Sygenta Corp., a Wilmington, Del., agribusiness, to lobby on “miscellaneous tariff bill,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Bob Van Heuvelen, former chief of staff to Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), is lobbying for the company.
• DEFENSE. Blank Rome Government Relations has been hired by the Principi Group, on behalf of Enterprise Florida Inc., for “advocacy related to protecting, promoting, preserving and expanding Florida military installations and missions on behalf of Enterprise Florida Inc.,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Pete Giambastiani, former deputy chief of staff to Rep. Jeff Miller (R-Fla.), is lobbying for the firm.
• FINANCIAL SERVICES. McBee Strategic Consulting has been hired by Citigroup Management Corp. to lobby on “issues related to cybersecurity,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Jenn Fogel-Bublick, former counsel to the Senate Banking Committee, and Mike Sheehy, former national security adviser to then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), are lobbying for the company.
The Majority Group has been hired by National Asset Direct, based in Rye Brook, N.Y., for “meeting with members of House, Senate and federal agencies to discuss ongoing financial reform,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Former Rep. Walt Minnick (D-Idaho) and Rob Ellsworth, his former chief of staff, are lobbying for the company.
• HEALTHCARE. Fierce, Isakowitz & Blalock has been hired by Sucampo Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Bethesda, Md., pharmaceutical research and development company, to lobby on “general FDA issues,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Aleix Jarvis, former legislative director to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), and Billy Piper, former chief of staff to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), are lobbying for the company.
