Casey Mindlin has jumped to Scholastic, a client of his former employer, American Continental Group. He now serves as the regional director for Scholastic National Partnerships, helping the education company partner with the federal government and nonprofit groups. 

Jack Ferguson Associates has hired Allison Nyholm and Wyatt Perry, and they will serve as a partner and an associate, respectively. Nyholm most recently worked for Sen. Lisa MurkowskiLisa Ann MurkowskiSessions torched by lawmakers for marijuana move Calif. Republican attacks Sessions over marijuana policy Trump's executive order on minerals will boost national defense MORE (R-Alaska) and has also served as a policy adviser at the American Petroleum Institute. Perry served as a special assistant to the commissioner of the Alaska Department of Revenue.

Waxman Strategies, helmed by former Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), made two additions: Glenn Hurowitz, former chairman of the Forest Heroes campaign, and Deborah Lapidus, who formerly served as the outreach director at Climate Advisers. Hurowitz will work as the head of the firm’s environmental practice, while Lapidus will be campaigns director

Lucy Calautti, who served as a senior adviser at BakerHostetler, is starting a new lobbying firm called Dakota Strategies with offices in Washington and Sarasota, Fla. She was chief of staff to former Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) and as a campaign strategist for former Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.). 

Capstone National Partners hired Democratic operative Will Stone. Previously, Stone worked as a lobbyist at both Jefferson Consulting and Denny Miller Associates. He also has worked for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and at the American Medical Association and on the staff of former Rep. Dave Obey (D-Wis.). 

Tara Lee has been named a partner in the Washington office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan. Before that, she served as the co-chair of DLA Piper’s global investigations practice and the global chair of its cross border litigation practice.
