• Jenny Lurray will be the new vice president of government affairs and public policy for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and president of the Komen Advocacy Alliance. Lurray most recently worked at Abbot Laboratories as a lobbyist. She was Sen. Barbara Mikulski’s (D-Md.) chief of staff and legislative director for Rep. Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.). Lurray also was a Clinton White House aide.
• Sheryl Wilkins Pardo has been hired by the Glover Park Group as its new vice president in the public affairs division. Pardo worked for the Mortgage Bankers Association previously. Prior to joining the trade group, she worked in the Department of Housing and Urban Development during the Clinton administration.
• Shana Campbell Jones has been named by the Center for Progressive Reform as its new executive director. Jones joined the think tank in 2007 as a policy analyst and has been acting executive director for the past three months. Before joining the organization, she worked as an associate attorney for McGuire Woods and served as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Robert G. Doumar and Judge Lynne Battaglia, Maryland Court of Appeals.
• Natalie Thomas has been hired by the American Veterinary Medical Association as its new manager of the AVMA Political Action Committee (AVMAPAC). Before coming to the trade association, Thomas worked at the National Marine Manufacturers Association, where she managed the BoatPAC and also served as government affairs coordinator for News Corp., where she oversaw Fox PAC.
• Susan Markham has joined the Campaign Workshop as a senior strategist. Before joining the firm, Markham was a deputy political director at EMILY’s List. She has also served as finance director for the Ohio Democratic Party and director of Senate services at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
