• ENERGY. Bracewell & Giuliani is lobbying for the Coalition for Energy Efficient Electric Tankless Water Heaters. Edward Krenik, a former associate administrator for congressional affairs and the Environmental Protection Agency, is lobbying for the coalition.

Kadesh & Associates is lobbying for L.H. Renewables, a wind-energy developer. The issue relates to the location of a wind-energy farm. Mark Kadesh, a former chief of staff to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), and Christian Kierig, former legislative assistant to Feinstein, are lobbying for the company.

UNICA, which represents the Brazilian sugarcane industry, hired Mehlman Vogel Castagnetti to lobby against the U.S. tariff on ethanol, lobbying records show.

• FINANCE. Nixon Peabody is lobbying for the Regional Bond Dealers Association on financial regulatory reform and general tax issues, federal lobbying records show.

The Smith-Free Group is lobbying for General Electric on “matters involving GE Capital and financial regulatory modernization,” federal lobbying records show. Andrew Barbour, a former legislative assistant to Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.), is lobbying for GE.

• FOOD. Mars Inc., the candy maker, hired Ernst & Young to lobby on tax issues, federal lobbying records show.

• HOMELAND SECURITY. Clark & Weinstock is lobbying for Special Securities Group, which makes first-responder identification cards. The lobbying team includes Paul Lobo, former chief of staff to then-Rep. Susan Molinari (R-N.Y.), and Sandra Stuart, former assistant secretary for legislative affairs for the Pentagon during the Clinton administration.

• SECURITY. Van Scoyoc Associates is lobbying for DynCorp International on an issue related to the training of the Afghan national police, federal lobbying records show.

• SENIORS. Madison Services Group is lobbying for AARP on “retirement issues,” federal lobbying records show.

• UNIVERSITIES. The National Group is seeking federal appropriations on behalf of Ithaca College in New York.
