• AGRICULTURE. Cornerstone Government Affairs is lobbying for the National Association of Wheat Growers. Mark Rokala and Thomas Shipman, former staff director on the Senate Agriculture Committee, are lobbying for the group.

James Nicholas Ashmore & Associates is lobbying for Bayer CropScience, which makes chemicals used in agriculture. James Ashmore, who was a senior aide to former Speaker Tom Foley (D-Wash.), is lobbying for the company.

• DEFENSE. R.J. Hudson Associates is lobbying for EADS-NA on “geospatial intelligence issues impacting defense, intelligence, homeland security, agriculture and disaster relief,” according to federal lobbying records.

• ENERGY. Sue Sheridan, former chief counsel to the House Energy and Commerce Energy and Air Quality subcommittee, is lobbying for the Land Trust Alliance, a conservation group. Sheridan is tracking electricity transmission line-siting issues.

• HEALTHCARE. Sidley Austin is lobbying for Eli Lilly and Co. Peter Goodloe, a former legislative counsel on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, is lobbying for the drug maker on proposed changes to Medicaid.

Venable is lobbying for Westmoreland Coal Co. on healthcare legislation, federal records show.

United Health Group hired Valente & Associates to lobby on its behalf on issues relating to the federal employee health benefit program.

• TELECOMMUNICATIONS. Gottlieb Strategic Consulting is lobbying for the Rural Broadband Coalition on telecommunications issues. Jim Gottlieb is a former chief of staff to Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), the chairman of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee.
