• Dee Dee Myers, the first woman to hold the position of White House press secretary, has joined the Glover Park Group as a managing director in its public affairs practice. Myers held the press position during the first two years of the Clinton administration. She is a contributing editor to Vanity Fair and was an original consultant to the NBC series “The West Wing.” Myers also served as press secretary for Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D- Calif.) during her 1990 California gubernatorial bid and worked on the presidential campaigns of former Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis (D) and Vice President Walter Mondale. • Greg Hitt has been hired as managing director in the Washington office of Public Strategies, Inc. Hitt was formerly a reporter at The Wall Street Journal and has covered Congress and the White House as well as presidential campaigns and international economics and trade. Hitt joined Dow Jones Newswires in 1989 before moving onto The Journal in 1996. Before that, he worked for four years at the Winston-Salem Journal in North Carolina.

• Mark S. Davies has joined Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe as a partner in the firm’s Supreme Court and appellate litigation practice in Washington. Davis was with O’Melveny & Myers before coming to the firm. He spent seven years on the appellate staff of the Justice Department’s Civil Division.

• Peter Lichtenbaum has joined Covington & Burling as a partner in the firm’s international trade and finance practice, working in the defense, homeland and national security industry group. He was vice president for regulatory compliance and international policy at BAE Systems, Inc. During the Bush administration, he was the assistant secretary of Commerce for export administration.

• Naomi Seligman has joined FitzGibbon Media. Seligman is opening up a Los Angeles office for the firm. She has worked for Media Matters for America and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics, a watchdog group.

• Kirstin Brost has joined SpaceX, the space exploration technology company, as its new director of communications. Brost is a former spokeswoman for Rep. David Obey (D-Wis.), chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, as well as for Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.), chairman of the Senate Banking Committee. She also has worked for the Washington State Democratic Party.
