Blue Dog Democrat joins law, lobby firm

By Kevin Bogardus - 01/05/11 12:18 PM ET

Outgoing Rep. Earl Pomeroy (D-N.D.) has joined a prominent law and lobbying firm in Washington.

The Blue Dog Democrat will work in Alston & Bird's healthcare practice along with long-time chief of staff Bob Siggins, according to a press release from the firm.

Pomeroy served nine terms in the House as North Dakota's lone representative. Defeated in November, Pomeroy, who served on the powerful Ways and Means Committee, voted for the healthcare reform bill.

“We have been focused on expanding our very successful health care practice, and we are thrilled to have them both join our team," Richard Hays, Alston & Bird’s managing partner, said in a statement. "Our clients will be well served by Congressman Pomeroy’s insight into Congress and his knowledge of the many issues he addressed during his years of public service.”
