• James “Jamie” A. Hunter has joined Arent Fox as a government relations director in the firm’s Washington office. He comes from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, where he was the director of government affairs. Before that, Hunter was a legislative assistant for Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), where he worked on issues dealing with transportation, homeland security and labor policy. He also was an adviser to Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign.

• Andrea M. Bergman has joined McDermott Will & Emery as the senior director of legislation and health policy in its Washington office. Before coming to the firm, she was a lobbyist for Medco Health Solutions, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. Bergman was a senior legislative and policy adviser to Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho).

• Shaun McGrath will join the American Solar Energy Society as its new executive director. He was deputy director of intergovernmental affairs in the Obama White House. Before joining the administration, McGrath was the mayor of Boulder, Colo., and also served on the Boulder City Council. He has also been a program director for the Western Governors’ Association.

• Liz Engel has joined the Glover Park Group as a managing director in the government affairs practice. She was deputy assistant secretary for legislation at the Department of Health and Human Services and also worked as a member of the Obama-Biden transition team. Before that, she was the health policy adviser at the Senate Democratic Policy Committee and has practiced law in New York with Proskauer Rose.

•Ryan Stroschein has joined Green Capitol as a senior partner. He has been an aide to former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) and was legislative director and legal counsel to former Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin (D-S.D.). Before coming to the firm, Stroschein was director of government relations at the Air Transport Association.

• Kevin Lanahan has rejoined Con Edison as director of government relations. He returns to the company after having worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co. as vice president of state and local government relations. Lanahan has also been a lobbyist for the Business Council of New York State.
