• FOOD. Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld has been hired by Hershey Co. to “provide policy counsel on matters relating to food and nutrition,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Sean D’Arcy, once counsel to former Rep. Donald Pease (D-Ohio), and Janine Smith, former tax counsel to ex-Sen. Carol Moseley Braun (D-Ill.), are lobbying for the company.
• TECHNOLOGY. Van Scoyoc Associates has been hired by Kronos Inc. to lobby on “workforce management software related issues,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Jennifer Cave, a former legislative aide to ex-Sen. John Warner (R-Va.), is lobbying for the company.
• TRANSPORTATION. McKenna, Long & Aldridge has been hired by Highstar Capital IV, a New York City-based venture capital firm, to lobby on “issues related to various government infrastructure projects, including the Federal Aviation Administration Airport Privatization Pilot Program,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Alex McGee, a former deputy assistant secretary at the Energy Department, is lobbying for the firm.
Thorn Run Partners has been hired by Greenberry Industrial to lobby on “transportation issues,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Alex DelPizzo, a former legislative director for then-Rep. Mike Ferguson (R-N.J.), is lobbying for the company.
