Former Obama administration official Christopher Fonzone is joining Sidley Austin as a member of its global privacy and cybersecurity practice. From 2013 to this year, he held senior White House roles advising the National Security Council. He also has experience at the Justice Department and the Defense Department and clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer.

The Investment Company Institute (ICI) has named Susan Olson as its general counsel. She has been serving as the chief counsel of ICI Global, an international arm of the industry group, since 2014, but has been with ICI since 2007. Prior to that, she worked for a decade at the Securities and Exchange Commission.

James Schultz, a White House ethics lawyer, has returned to his previous private sector job at law firm Cozen O’Connor, Politico reported. He had worked in the Office of White House Counsel for nearly a year. 

Michael Lemon has left the halls of Capitol Hill to join the Internet Association as director of government affairs. He comes from the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he advised Sen. Medicaid Health Plans of America hired Shannon Attanasio, naming her the director of government relations and advocacy for the trade group. Before that, she worked at Families USA, lobbying for the advocacy group and managing its legislative strategy. 

AmerisourceBergen has brought Ashley O’Sullivan into its Washington office as a manager of legislation and policy. Prior to that, she worked for almost three years at lobbying firm Roberti Global, where she served as director of research. 

Allison Schwartz has this week joined Dun & Bradstreet to serve as its global leader of government affairs. Before coming to the corporate data and analytics company, Schwartz worked as the vice president of government relations and public affairs at financial services company Intuit.
