• Jonathan W. Renfrew has joined Brown Rudnick as director in the government law and strategies group. Prior to being hired by the law firm, Renfrew was chief of staff to Rep. John Larson (D-Conn.), vice chairman of the House Democratic Caucus. He also served as legislative director and legislative assistant to Larson over the past decade.
• Lloyd Day has been appointed head lobbyist for Syngenta. Before joining the company, Day was the Agricultural Marketing Service administrator at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He also served as deputy secretary of the California Trade and Commerce Agency.
• Jill Sigal has been named by EnergySolutions Inc. as its new executive vice president of corporate communications and government relations. Sigal most recently was at the Department of Energy as an assistant secretary for congressional and intergovernmental affairs. At the energy firm, Sigal will handle government relations as well as external communications.
• August Horvath has joined Kelley Drye & Warren as special counsel to its advertising and antitrust groups. Horvath has represented clients before the Federal Trade Commission’s Consumer Protection Bureau as well as the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus. Horvath is also chairman of the American Bar Association’s antitrust section consumer protection committee.
