Cheney to campaign in Bayou State |

Vice President Dick Cheney will travel to Louisiana to help raise funds for Republican House candidate Dr. John Fleming this Friday. He will also attend a fundraiser for the candidate in Shreveport, according to Cheney’s office.
Fleming’s race against Democrat Paul Carmouche was postponed by Hurricane Gustav, which pushed back primaries in Louisiana’s 4th and 2nd districts. Fleming emerged as the GOP’s candidate after a Nov. 4 primary; Fleming and Carmouche will face off Dec. 6.
Cheney will attend a private, invitation-only fundraiser around lunchtime in Shreveport on Friday, according to Cheney’s office.
Fleming and Carmouche are seeking the seat held by 11-term Rep. Jim McCrery (R), who is retiring.
