GOP cites Biden’s criticism of Obama’s inexperience |

The campaign of Republican presidential candidate John McCain wasted little time to point out that Barack Obama’s running mate has been critical of the Illinois senator’s inexperience. Shortly after the Obama camp announced that Sen. Joe Biden (Del.) would take the second spot on the Democratic ticket, McCain spokesman Ben Porritt said that “there has been no harsher critic of Barack Obama's lack of experience than Joe Biden.” Biden also competed for the Democratic nomination but dropped out early in the primary process. However, he was on the campaign trail long enough to provide the McCain camp with enough ammunition. “Biden has denounced Barack Obama's poor foreign policy judgment and has strongly argued in his own words what Americans are quickly realizing that Barack Obama is not ready to be president,” Porritt stated. Obama’s decision to tap Biden indicates that the Illinois Democrat recognizes that foreign policy and national security are critical to taking the White House this November. The Delaware senator does bring a great deal of foreign policy experience and an aggressive tone to the ticket. |
