Rep. Dennis Kucinich (Ohio) is abandoning his long shot bid for the Democratic nomination to focus on his congressional career, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Kucinich, who never gained any traction in national polls or in the early primary states, is expected to make a formal announcement Friday. “I want to continue to serve in Congress,” Kucinich told his hometown paper. The six-term lawmaker sent out an e-mail to supporters Wednesday, urging them to give to his congressional campaign to allow him to overcome a primary challenge. “I’m running for re-election to the United States Congress and I need your help to make sure that I stay in Congress,” the lawmaker said. |
