Former Blunt aide joins health group

By Carrie Sheffield - 03/21/06 08:00 PM ET

A major nursing-home group has tapped a former chief of staff for House Majority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) to work as one of its top Hill lobbyists.

The American Health Care Association (AHCA) named David Hebert its senior vice president of policy and government relations. Hebert worked a year as chief of staff for Blunt and has been at Alston & Bird since 2004.

“He’s established a great number of relationships on the Hill that will remain very beneficial to us as we fight our battles on Capitol Hill,” said AHCA spokeswoman Susan Feeney. “Congressman Blunt is still a very influential member on Capitol Hill, even though he is the whip as opposed to the majority leader.”
