The lawmaker noted of the book: "I didn't say I wasn't going to [read it]. I think I'm entitled to a free copy."
He noted he'd like a signed, first edition.
Issa admitted he read the excerpt in The New York Times, which featured portions of the chapter about Bardella and himself.
"I've certainly gotten the preview. I must admit I did read the New York Times magazine [excerpt]. I'm doing my part," he said.
