In the Know: National Geographic warehouse sale this weekend

By Christina Wilkie - 11/18/09 07:37 PM ET

More than 250,000 items from National Geographic stores will be sold at bargain-basement prices this weekend at the D.C. Armory for the venerable society’s annual Warehouse Sale.

Admission to the sale is free, and organizers report that the more than 14 tractor trailer loads of merchandise will include many of the items in the National Geographic gift catalog, including telescopes, cameras, luggage, jewelry, clothing, toys and games, and more than 300 book titles, all at up to

90 percent off their original prices.

The sale runs Friday to Sunday; Friday hours are 10 a.m.–6 p.m.; Saturday/Sunday the sale is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The D.C. Armory is located at 2001 East Capitol St. SE, on the Blue and Orange lines.
