McCain offers ASU receiver a high-tech pat on the back

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) gave Arizona State University wide receiver Kyle Williams a unique pat on the back Monday after his team suffered a tough, season-ending loss to the University of Arizona on Saturday.

McCain made the kindly gesture from more than 1,000 miles away, via Twitter, and shared it with his more than 1.6 million followers.

“Great ASU v. U of A football game on Saturday!” McCain tweeted Monday morning, “Kyle Williams made a mistake but we are all very proud of him!!”
Williams, a senior, was responsible for the fourth-quarter turnover that allowed the Wildcats to eke out a 20-17 win over the Sun Devils.
