Yes, we’re open: Sunday specials arrive in the district

By Nicole Brennan - 09/07/07 02:58 PM ET
Need something else to be excited about on Sundays? Two downtown eateries are offering specials sure to please any taste.

For spicy gumbo from the Gulf, a San Francisco treat of Chinese smoked lobster or a Mid-Atlantic specialty crab cake entrée prepared by Head Chef Jeff Tunks, head to DC Coast. The restaurant is located at 1401 K St. NW and dinner is served from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Telephone (202) 216-5988 or visit on the Web at www.dccoast.com

If Southern hospitality is what you seek, Acadiana is serving a New Orleans-style, three-course prix fixe Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Not a morning — or early afternoon — person? For those looking for an afternoon snack before the big NFL kickoff, light pickings from the bayou will be served at the bar from 3 to 6 p.m. Drink specialties include a Brandy Milk Punch and a fiery Bloody Mary. Sunday supper is served between 6 and 9 p.m.
