‘4x4’ happy hour at Poste  Brasserie

From 4p.m. to 7p.m. on weekdays, Poste Moderne Brasserie, an upscale but reasonably priced venue at 555 8th St. N.W., is introducing a new happy hour.

The gimmick is 4x4, meaning four items for only $4 each. Items include white wine, red wine, Sam Adams lager and truffle-oil frites.

Poste Moderne Brasserie, (202) 783-6060,  is located at 555 8th St, N.W.

Simply Home offers culinary intimacy

Simply Home, the provocative restaurant with two intimate lounge areas and a full-service bar, has finally reopened after a complete renovation.

Whereas the restaurant used to offer only takeout, the new set up is far more elaborate, with dining-room seating as well as a retail store offering Thai home accessories, jewelry and clothing. The menu also has more to offer: traditional Thai dishes and world cuisine blended with Thai flavor.

Simply Home, (202) 232-8424, is located at 1410 and 1412 U St. N.W.

Palette’s happy hour

Word has it that happy hour at Palette is busier than usual.

It’s 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and features $6 martinis, $5 wine by the glass, $4 imported beer and $3 domestic beer. The restaurant can reserve a communal table in the lounge if guests are coming in with a large group.

Palette Restaurant & Bar, (202) 587-2701, is located at 1177 15th St. N.W.
