Specter may spill the beans in a book

By Christina Wilkie - 06/21/10 07:55 PM ET

Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) fell short in his primary battle last month, but he might not be going quietly into the night.

Specter won’t talk about his loss to Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) or whether he knew the White House was going to offer Sestak a carrot to get out of the race.

But that doesn’t mean Specter is going to keep mum forever.

Asked last week if he will tell his tale in a book someday, Specter flashed a mischievous smile and said, “I might.”

Memo to senators: Be nice to Specter during his last months in office. Be very nice.

Specter wrote a book a couple of years ago about his bout with cancer, titled Never Give In: Battling Cancer in the Senate.
