Barton’s on a ‘baseball card’ for the big game

By Christina Wilkie - 06/28/10 06:53 PM ET

Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) plans to be on the field for Tuesday’s congressional baseball game. But he’ll make another appearance as well.

The National Wildlife Federation has printed 1,000 “Big Oil All Star” mock baseball cards with a photo of Barton. The group plans to hand out the cards outside Nationals Park during the annual charity baseball game between Republicans and Democrats that benefits the Washington Literacy Council and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington.

The card highlights Barton’s votes against climate change legislation and other Democratic energy bills, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations from the oil-and-gas industry over the past several election cycles.
