Wayne Newton loves Reid, but some Dems don’t love Newton

Las Vegas crooner Wayne Newton loves Senate Majority Leader Harry ReidHarry ReidWeek ahead: House to revive Yucca Mountain fight Warren builds her brand with 2020 down the road 'Tuesday Group' turncoats must use recess to regroup on ObamaCare MORE (D-Nev.), a point he reiterated this week on Fox News Channel.

But in Reid’s 2008 book, The Good Fight, the lawmaker revealed that another Democrat is definitely not a fan of Newton.

In the book, Reid noted that Newton is a Republican and that he appeared in an ad criticizing North Dakota Democratic Sens. Byron Dorgan and Kent Conrad for opposing a constitutional amendment on flag-burning.

Reid wrote, “When Dorgan heard that Wayne was going to perform at a fundraising event for me in Washington, D.C., he came to me with a message for Wayne. ‘Tell Wayne to go eff himself.’ ”

The Nevada lawmaker “dutifully delivered Dorgan’s message to Wayne, who got a hearty laugh out of it.”
