Republican staffers launch ‘Take back the Lounge’

By Christina Wilkie - 11/15/10 08:36 PM ET

For GOP staffers and lobbyists, taking back the House of Representatives apparently wasn’t quite enough: They want their old haunt, the Capitol Lounge, back, too.

To that end, an e-mail invitation circulated Monday by an influential GOP staffer states: “Republicans have taken back the House. But one precinct’s results haven’t come in yet. Please join your fellow Republicans for one final get-out-the-vote effort that’s been long overdue — taking back the Lounge. Come out and show your support and for the type of change that will buy you a wing or two.”

According to the invitation, the merrymaking will take place on Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Capitol Lounge, 231 Pennsylvania Ave. SE. No RSVP required.
