Bristol Palin and ‘The Situation’ unite for safe-sex ad

By Christina Wilkie - 11/17/10 07:30 PM ET

In what is surely one of the most awkward public service announcements ever filmed, Bristol Palin and MTV “Jersey Shore” star Mike Sorrentino teamed up this week in an ad promoting safe sex.

In the ad, which was quite popular on YouTube on Wednesday, Sorrentino pretends to flirt with Palin backstage at “Dancing With the Stars,” the ABC show on which both Palin and Sorrentino appeared this season (Sorrentino was eliminated in the fourth round).

Sorrentino’s come-on leads to a scripted “conversation” between Palin and the notoriously promiscuous Sorrentino filled with puns on Sorrentino’s nickname, “The Situation.”

“Excuse me, miss, but have you ever had a situation with the, uh, official ‘Situation’?” Sorrentino asks Palin in his opening line.

Palin then turns around.

“Oh, snap, B. Palin!” he exclaims when he recognizes her.

Palin quickly segues, “I hope you’re as committed to safe sex as you are to those abs.”

Palin, 19, is the mother of 1-year-old Tripp Palin, her child with former boyfriend Levi Johnston. She is an advocate for premarital abstinence, as she explains to Sorrentino, “I’m not getting myself into another situation. I know how hard it is to be a teen parent.”
