It’s never too early to raise money for the next cycle, and four Republican congressmen are planning to do it in sunny style this weekend.
Reps. John Shimkus (Ill.), Phil Gingrey (Ga.), Tim Murphy (Pa.) and John Campbell (Calif.) are all jetting off to Miami on Friday for a “Post Election Trip” fundraising weekend, according to invitations posted on the Sunlight Foundation’s website.
Care to join them? Be prepared to cough up $1,500 for an individual, $2,500 for a political action committee (PAC). (But don’t be confused by a typo circulating on Capitol Hill that lists the PAC donation level for the weekend as $5,000. ITK confirmed the $2,500 rate.)
The glue holding this foursome of fellas together appears to be a GOP fundraising firm, the Gula Graham Group. All of the lawmakers are listed as clients on the firm’s website, and the invitations instruct guests to RSVP to one of the firm’s founders and mail checks to the Gula Graham Group’s Washington office.
Founders Mike Gula and Jon Graham declined to provide any details about the weekend’s agenda, or the choice of locale. The congressmen’s offices were similarly tight-lipped.
