Sick day for EPA chief

At least one member of President Obama’s administration was missing from the roster of officials who participated in service projects throughout Washington on Monday: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa Jackson. 

According to her spokesman, the 48-year-old mother of two was out sick on Monday, forcing her to miss two planned public appearances on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. 

Jackson already commemorated the federal holiday Friday at an event with Attorney General Eric Holder, but she had planned to speak at a breakfast Monday, and later to kick off a community service event at Tubman Elementary School in Washington.
