Tweeting Pelosi 
is healthy again

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) resumed her regularly scheduled meetings in Italy on Tuesday after a daylong visit to the hospital. She was even feeling well enough to tweet. 

Pelosi was admitted to a hospital Monday, according to her spokesman. “After several flights yesterday in Afghanistan, and a long flight back to Italy that arrived early this morning, Leader Pelosi was not feeling well.” 

Pelosi is in Italy with a congressional delegation to mark the 150th anniversary of Italian unification. According to a Pelosi press release, she traveled with Reps. John Mica (R-Fla.), Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.), Leonard Boswell (D-Iowa) and Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.). 

The lawmaker was released Monday night, and shortly thereafter a note appeared on her Twitter page: “Thanks to everyone for your well wishes — had a very productive trip to Afghanistan and am in Italy resuming meetings now.” 

She also re-tweeted some healthcare numbers on Tuesday. 

Pelosi will turn 71 on Saturday, but it’s unclear whether she’ll celebrate the occasion in sunny Italy or back home in California.
