Michelle Obama’s anti-obesity campaign to rework racy tune

By Christina Wilkie - 04/11/11 08:28 PM ET

First it was a healthier Easter Bunny. Now first lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign plans to release reworked lyrics to a racy Beyonce dance tune.

The sexy singer’s 2006 hit, “Get Me Bodied,” has officially been retitled “Move Your Body,” and the lyrics have been rewritten for a new video, “Let’s Move! Flash Workout,” aimed at encouraging young people to be more active. The video will be available to middle-school students on May 3.

Fans of the original version might remember lines referring to Rolls-Royces and champagne, culminating in the instruction to “Shake ya derriere in them Dereons.”

These are unlikely to make the final cut.

“I am excited to be part of this effort that addresses a public health crisis … through something we all love to do, and that’s dance,” Beyonce said in a statement and video.

Much of the original is devoted to creating a new dance step; these lyrics will likely stay in the new, G-rated version.
