Bill Clinton a popular choice to succeed playboy founder Hugh Hefner

By Christina Wilkie - 05/02/11 07:18 PM ET

Who do Americans think should succeed Hugh Hefner as the head of the Playboy empire?

According to a new poll, a surprising number think former President Clinton would be a good choice to step into the 85-year-old’s velvet slippers.

Vanity Fair and “60 Minutes” released findings Monday showing that, second only to professional train wreck Charlie Sheen, Clinton is the person most poll respondents think could handle Hef’s responsibilities.

Clinton was the top choice for 21 percent of the 984 respondents, beating out pro golfer Tiger Woods, rocker John Mayer and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. Sheen edged out Clinton by a margin of four percentage points.

But don’t expect Hef to turn over his silk bathrobe anytime soon: Spotted last week zipping around Disneyland, he plans to wed 25-year-old bombshell Crystal Harris in June.
