Schock gets grief from lawmakers for baring his chest

By Christina Wilkie - 05/09/11 07:58 PM ET

Not everyone is impressed by Rep. Aaron Schock’s (R-Ill.) bare-chested cover photo. A Republican congressman on Monday gave his colleague a bit of grief for the pinup-style shot.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (Utah) said on Twitter that Schock’s photo might motivate him to work out more. But he also gave Schock some grief for his meticulous fitness habits:

“Two things need to happen …

“1) I need to do more sit ups. Ok, perhaps I could start with doing 10

“2) Aaron, dude, my friend, seriously you need to go to Five Guys with me for a Little Bacon Cheesebuger [sic]. Or perhaps the bacon dog extra mayo.”

At least one other House Republican agrees with Chaffetz: Rep. Darrell Issa (Calif.).

No stranger to being admired for his good looks, Issa re-tweeted Chaffetz’s messages.

Despite Schock’s push for healthy eating and living habits, ITK can’t blame Chaffetz for talking up the delectable bacon cheeseburger from Five Guys, a popular D.C.-based burger chain.
