Rep. Grimm’s puppy the one to beat in pet photo contest

By Christina Wilkie - 05/11/11 08:19 PM ET

For those of you convinced that your pet is the best-looking/cutest/funniest animal ever, now is your chance to prove it.

The 2011 Congressional Pet Photo Contest is up and running, and judging by a few early entries, the competition is fierce.

Sponsored by the Humane Society of the United States, the contest is open to members of Congress and congressional staff. Eligible pets include dogs, cats and horses, and the submissions will be accepted through May 20.

ITK’s early pick is Sebastian, Rep. Michael Grimm’s (R-N.Y.) 2-month-old Yorkshire terrier. Grimm rescued Sebastian from a puppy mill in Missouri, and he’s quickly become the most popular resident of the fifth floor of Cannon.

To enter the contest, visit www.humanesociety.org before May 20 to submit a photo.
