Maryland Rep. Cummings’s 
nephew shot to death

Rep. Elijah Cummings’ 20-year-old nephew was shot to death on Friday in Norfolk, Va.

The Maryland Democrat, in a statement to the AP, described the fatal attack on Christopher Cummings as a “random shooting.” Christopher Cummings’ roommate was injured in the shooting and is recovering in a hospital. The congressman said, “My family and I remain in shock over the news of the random shooting that took the life of mynephew. Christopher was an amazing young man who was loved and admired by so many people who had the honor of knowing him.”
