‘Sex and the City’ not coming to Washington

By Judy Kurtz - 07/06/11 08:07 PM ET

Sorry, Carrie Bradshaw fans — it looks like the famed fictional sex columnist won’t be strutting the streets of Washington in her Manolo Blahniks anytime soon.

At a recent signing for her new book, Summer and the City, author and “Sex and the City” creator Candace Bushnell revealed to ITK, “I think that D.C.’s full of fantastic stories, but I’ve never lived here. I think that’s for somebody else to do.”

But wouldn’t some of the latest scandal-plagued politicians make for great story lines? Bushnell says, “They certainly would, and it’s very strange that someone hasn’t already written  about it.”

In other words, aspiring chick-lit writers better start cranking out Sex and the Capital City before someone else beats them to it.
