Tim Gunn dislikes Clinton’s fashion sense, praises Pelosi’s

By Judy Kurtz - 08/01/11 06:46 PM ET

Don’t count on Hillary Clinton calling up style guru Tim Gunn for help in picking out her next outfit. The “Project Runway” star and design consultant continues to sharpen his sartorial claws on the secretary of State.

Gunn took his first Clinton dig last week on an episode of “Lopez Tonight” when he told host George Lopez that he thinks she is “confused about her gender [with] all these big, baggy, menswear-tailored pantsuits.” Fashion burn!

But Washington lawmakers aren’t all drab in Gunn’s eyes. The TV star praised the House minority leader on Thursday’s “The Gayle King Show,” saying “the one person on Capitol Hill who I’ve always held up as kind of a role model or fashion model has been Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) … because she dresses for her curves. She’s not afraid to say, ‘I’m a woman.’ ”

The kind words didn’t last long, as Gunn continued his tailored takedown of Clinton, telling King, “I find that the colors that she chooses aren’t particularly flattering.”

Zingers must be in fashion this season.
