Bill Clinton will not follow in Tom DeLay’s footsteps

Unlike former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas), Bill Clinton will not be appearing on “Dancing With the Stars.”

The former president told talk show host Rachael Ray he once turned down an invitation to compete as the celebrity half of one of the dancing pairs, even though Hillary Clinton’s 92-year-old mother — who “watches it religiously” — wanted him on the show.

“I told them I didn’t have the time to train for it,” Clinton said. “You know, you actually go out there and you train, you really work at it. So I had to pass.”

DeLay appeared on the ABC show in 2009, but had to withdraw midway through because of stress fractures in his feet.
