Gay congressman out on paternity leave

Who can possibly resist spending time with a new baby?

Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.), who recently announced the birth of his son, Caspian Julius, posted pictures of his adorable new addition on Friday on his Facebook page.

The openly gay congressman and his partner, Marlon Reis, haven’t revealed whether the baby was adopted or delivered through a surrogate.

Polis seems to be savoring some time with the almost-2-week-old. He was among five members of Congress who missed every House vote last week.

A spokesman says Polis intends to be out on paternity leave for two weeks of session, but might return to the House this week.
