Herman Cain: Not the Fifth Beatle

By Judy Kurtz - 10/26/11 06:36 PM ET

Although his online ode to pizza borrowed the tune of John Lennon’s “Imagine” and has become a certified viral hit, Herman Cain says he’s not a diehard follower of the Beatles.

When People magazine asked the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO if he was a fan of the Beatles and referred to the “Imagine There’s No Pizza” song Cain belted out at a 1991 event, the Republican presidential candidate replied, “Was that a Beatles song? I forget, man.”

He then continued, “[My staff] wishes that would go away! I loved some of their songs. But I never got caught up in Beatlemania. I was studying.”
