Condoleezza Rice on being Gadhafi’s reported crush: ‘It’s a little weird’
Condoleezza Rice says being on the receiving end of a violent dictator’s affections is just a smidge awkward.
Appearing on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show on Tuesday to promote her just-released book, No Higher Honor, the former secretary of State confirmed she was shocked to find out the late Libyan ruler Moammar Gadhafi had a crush on her, telling the conservative commentator, “Yes, it’s a little weird.”
The Associated Press reported in August that in a raid on Gadhafi’s compound, Libyan rebels discovered a photo book featuring snapshots of Rice. Gadhafi also declared in a 2007 interview with Al Jazeera, “Leezza, Leezza, Leezza … I love her very much.”
When Hannity inquired as to whether Gadhafi flirted with her, Rice replied, “I don’t know if Gadhafi flirted. I think that’s not quite the right way to think about it.”
