The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) and the Michigan Republican Party issued statements yesterday condemning Stabenow for attending the $25,000-per-person “economic forum” at Manhattan’s St. Regis Hotel. A Democratic source in Michigan shrugged off the Republican attacks, saying the senator would also be spending the weeklong break at home meeting with an Arab-American group, a lawyers association, local Democrats and constituents in Flint, Mich.
