Barbara Bush gets weepy during movie screening

By Judy Kurtz - 01/18/12 08:59 PM ET

Terrence Howard says a screening of his latest movie with ex-President George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush brought the former first lady to tears.

The actor stars in the new movie “Red Tails,” about the Tuskegee Airmen, the first group of African-American pilots to serve in the U.S. military.

The entertainer revealed Wednesday on “Access Hollywood Live” that a recent viewing of the flick with the Bushes brought on the waterworks, saying, “Barbara was crying.” Howard said a sad ending was to blame for Mrs. Bush’s teary reaction.

When the Daily News asked in a separate interview whether Howard had comforted the former president’s wife, he reportedly shook his head and smiled as he replied, “I’m not touching another man’s wife.”

President Obama and Michelle Obama hosted another screening of “Red Tails” last week at the White House.
