Kim Kardashian’s supposed mayoral run hits a snag

By Judy Kurtz - 04/18/12 07:02 PM ET

Some residents of a California community will soon be calling Kim Kardashian their mayor, if the reality starlet has her way.

In a short clip previewing an episode of “Khloe and Lamar,” the reality show starring Kardashian’s sister, Khloe, the tabloid fixture declares, “I decided I’m going to run for the mayor of Glendale.”

Saying “you have to have full residency in Glendale,” Kardashian, 31, claims she’ll buy a home there in order to run for political office in about five years.

Kardashian cites her Armenian roots as an advantage in Glendale, which has a large Armenian population.

But looks like the raven-haired celeb isn’t exactly keeping up with how the whole mayor thing works there. As the Glendale News Press points out, there could be a slight problem with the publicity hound’s plans. The paper writes that the city in Los Angeles County doesn’t elect its mayor — five City Council members determine the largely ceremonial position each year.

Whoops.
