Prince Harry to visit DC

By Judy Kurtz - 04/23/12 06:37 PM ET

Washington is getting a visit from the world’s most famous red-haired royal.

Prince Harry will accept a humanitarian leadership award from the Atlantic Council next month, St. James Palace announced Monday.

The 27-year-old member of the royal family will accept the award on behalf of his brother, Prince William, for their joint work with wounded warriors and military veterans.

It’s not Harry’s first visit to the States. The youngest son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana was in Arizona last October for military training.

At the time, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) posted a recommendation for the visiting royal on where to stay while in the Grand Canyon State, writing on Twitter, “Prince Harry in Gila Bend, AZ! I recommend the Space Age Lodge.”

The award will be presented to Prince Harry on May 7.
