No cane needed for Sen. Tim Johnson

SPOTTED: Sen. Tim Johnson rising from his motorized scooter and walking a few steps unassisted to his party’s policy lunch at the Capitol on Tuesday.

The South Dakota Democrat suffered bleeding in the brain in 2006 and is rarely eyed getting around without a cane.

Perry Plumart, Johnson’s press secretary, says his boss is “doing great,” explaining that the 65-year-old lawmaker uses a scooter only for efficiency.

Johnson, says Plumart, “continues to get better every day.”
