Mary Matalin picks kids and critters in NOLA over GOP convention

Mary Matalin might not make it to Tampa this week.

The Republican strategist and CNN contributor told ITK in an email that she might have to entirely scrap her time in Tampa as Tropical Storm Isaac intensifies near the Gulf Coast.

Matalin shares a New Orleans home with hubby and longtime Democratic strategist James Carville, a Louisiana native.

Matalin said instead of heading to the Sunshine State, she “had to reroute to batten down hatches” and to “evacuate kids and critters.”

She added she’s “not sure” whether she’ll get to Tampa. Here’s hoping kids (and critters) are A-OK.
