Ex-senator says that he misses Capitol Hill like ‘cancer of the rectum’

Former Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) doesn’t miss Capitol Hill. Not one bit.

Asked on Tuesday if he pines away for Congress, Bunning told ITK, “Yeah, I miss it. I miss it like cancer of the rectum.”

Bunning, for the record, has never had cancer of the rectum. 

The ex-senator, who has had a frosty relationship with Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), did not seek reelection in 2010. 

Bunning was famously tight-lipped with Capitol Hill reporters, but was somewhat talkative on Tuesday. He complained a bit about Kentucky being stuck in the back of the convention floor this year, noting the state’s delegates were front and center four years ago.
