Rep. Watt’s advice to women: Ditch the ‘cute shoes’

Charlotte’s congressman, Rep. Mel Watt (D-N.C.), has some friendly advice for convention-goers making their way around his home city this week: Ditch the cute shoes.

“Women, take those cute shoes off. This is a walking town,” Watt said to laughs Tuesday morning as he addressed a North Carolina delegation breakfast. “It’s just going to be very difficult to get around if you’ve got those cute shoes on."
